Search the national land registry by plot number, owner name, or district. Fee: Le 100,000 per search (paid via GOV.SL Pay).

Land transfer process

Title Verification

Verify the current land title and confirm ownership. The Registrar will search the Land Registry for encumbrances.

Consent of Chiefs

For provincial land, obtain consent from the Paramount Chief and Section Chief. Western Area freehold does not require this.

Valuation

Government-appointed valuer assesses the land value for stamp duty calculation.

Conveyance Deed

Prepare the deed of conveyance through a registered legal practitioner.

Pay Stamp Duty & Fees

Pay stamp duty (computed on land value) and registration fees through GOV.SL Pay.

Registration

The deed is registered at the Office of the Administrator and Registrar-General. You receive a digital title certificate.
